The Advantages of Living in a Village
It is wonderful to be able to get in the car and travel off the beaten path, whether that is in the Lake District, a favourite place in Yorkshire, or any other location throughout the United Kingdom.
Many people like to stay in the UK for their holiday and certainly, when needing a little help with walking we find that the scooter and mobility scooter insurance is helpful when pottering down the little lanes in villages. It is really easy as the scooter separates into three sections and fits into the boot of the car. It means that we can go to so many more places than we would otherwise be able to get to without difficulty. Kirkby Lonsdale is a beautiful little village with the old square and cobbled streets. It is a really attractive place, and has the river and bridge above it.
Without the mobility scooter and insurance we wouldn’t be able to wander round the area as cobbled streets aren’t the easiest to walk on at the best of times. It is also very popular with tourists, and of course, the vehicles which bring them. However, it is good, when the weather co-operates to have the visitors – they bring much need revenue into the area, and of course, keep the local shops open.
Kirkby Lonsdale is an attractive village, yet many people drive past on the dual carriageway, without even realising that it is there, and this is the same with many villages. Now that there are the motorways which speed travellers to their destination, people don’t drive along the country lanes any more. It really is a shame that everyone is in such a hurry, nowadays. There’s no time to stop for a chat with the neighbours, in fact in many parts of the country people don’t even know who their neighbours are – they are like ships that pass in the night.
This though is one of the advantages of living in the country. It is a community whereby everyone knows everyone else. Not that people are being nosey or interfering. It is nice to know that if there is a problem, then there will always be someone who is happy to help out wherever possible.
This is another advantage of having a mobility scooter and insurance. Being able to drive down the country lanes, there aren’t any pavements anyway, and to know that cars can’t drive quickly because the lanes are too narrow. At some point in their lives, everyone should try living in a village and see the difference there is from city living. Being part of a community is wonderful.
